Job summary

The YMCA is seeking a Multimedia Content Specialist to capture and produce engaging short-form video that highlights people, programs, and impact across our locations.

You will travel to branches to film, edit reels and Shorts, add captions and graphics, and maintain a steady content pipeline aligned with the social calendar.

Collaborate with the marketing team, follow release and child-safety procedures, and provide performance reports to help grow membership and community connection.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience creating and editing short-form video for social media.
• Proficiency with mobile video editing apps and/or desktop software.
• Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube trends and best practices.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Basic photography, lighting, and audio skills.
• Familiarity with captioning and accessibility best practices.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a background check, including child-safety screening.

Responsibilities

• Travel to locations to film video and photos.
• Capture authentic moments of members, staff and programs in action.
• Coordinate with branch staff to schedule shoots and learn about upcoming events or stories worth featuring.
• Attend community events and sports matches to capture real-time content.
• Edit footage into short-form videos (Reels, TikToks, Shorts, Stories) using mobile and/or desktop editing tools.
• Add captions, music, graphics, and effects consistent with brand standards.
• Maintain a steady content pipeline that supports the social media calendar.
• Organize and archive raw footage and finished videos in a shared library.
• Monitor social media trends, sounds, and formats on an ongoing basis.
• Pitch content ideas to the marketing team.
• Work with the marketing & communications team to align content with campaigns, seasonal priorities, and brand voice.
• Follow photo/video release and consent procedures, with special attention to minors in youth programs, camps, and child development centers.
• Follow child protection and safety policies at all sites.
• Provide content performance reports as requested.
