You'll join a collaborative video team within Tom's Guide, one of the world's fastest-growing digital destinations. Our mission is to help people make smarter choices about the gadgets they use every day, and video is a major part of how we bring that mission to life.

The video team sits at the intersection of editorial and branded content, working with writers, editors, and producers to create content that both informs and entertains. We're expanding to further accelerate our distribution of short-form vertical videos daily and several mid-to-long form YouTube episodes each week — varying from hands-on product tests and hero-style narratives to shoppable livestreams and branded content campaigns.

We're looking for a Video Producer to support our growing slate of productions across platforms including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Firework. You'll be the connective tissue between the producers, talent, editors, and commercial departments/external vendors on branded content. We're counting on this role to ensure that each project runs on time, has a well-managed production budget, sources freelance work, and has a coordinated upload strategy.

You'll build processes to manage the logistical and operational details that keep our shoots running smoothly, from pre-production planning through post-production delivery. This is a hands-on role for someone who's energized by helping editorial teams do their best work. We're looking for someone with production knowledge throughout all the steps it takes to bring video to life.

What You'll Be Doing

You will report to the managing editor

• Host original video content for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and livestream platforms, engaging with the audiences with confidence
• Adapt to different formats and tones, from off-the-cuff shorts to multi-cam productions
• Write and co-write scripts across editorial and branded content formats
• Collaborate with producers, editors, and content strategists to shape video ideas from pitch to final cut
• Contribute ideas for new formats, recurring series, social experiments, and trending opportunities
• Work with a team, share ideas, and collaborate in the best interest of the brand at-large
• Coordinate with the branded content team to brainstorm and shape sponsor-led ideas
• Present branded content with a natural, authentic tone that aligns with campaign goals
• Experiment with new styles and formats, learn what works (and what doesn't), and iterate often
• Help organize and prepare for shoots, including pre-interviews, product research, scripting, and shot planning
• Independently represent Tom's Guide at industry events, shoots, or off-site activations
• Provide feedback on edits and help shape the voice and pacing of our video presence as we grow
• Prep quickly on many topics, from tech and entertainment to lifestyle and beyond
  
  

Experience That Will Put You Ahead Of The Curve

• 2+ years of on-camera experience in video, broadcast, YouTube, or social-first content (must have sample work available)
• Experience writing scripts on deadline
• Stage presence with the ability to ad-lib, interview, and perform
• Solid research skills and curiosity to learn fast, especially in new or technical subject areas
• Comfortable with both studio and field production environments
• Willingness to travel occasionally for shoots and branded projects
• Understanding of social video trends, tone, and what makes content resonate
• Experience presenting branded content or working with marketing/sponsor teams
• Experience self-producing and editing shortform content (especially on deadlines)
• Experience vlogging or self-shooting
• Experience turning around breaking news videos quickly
• Experience testing and researching tech gadgets such as: TVs, phones, laptops, headphones, and gaming consoles
