Job summary

Hammer Media in Austin is hiring a Video Editor to shape and deliver long-form YouTube content across multiple shows. You will craft pacing and storytelling, integrate b-roll, music, and graphics, and deliver polished cuts that meet our quality standards.

You will build efficient workflows, manage assets, and optimize thumbnails and titles based on engagement data, all within an in-office East Austin environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of video editing experience, preferably YouTube-first.
• Strong long-form editing instincts for pacing and retention.
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.
• Color grading and audio cleanup expertise for YouTube deliverables.
• Experience mentoring other editors and working in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Edit long-form YouTube content across multiple shows.
• Shape pacing, structure, and storytelling to maximize retention.
• Integrate b‑roll, music, graphics, and motion elements.
• Deliver polished final cuts meeting quality standards.
• Create organized workflows, templates, and editing guidelines.
• Manage files, versions, and assets efficiently.
• Create thumbnails and titles with an engagement testing mindset.
• Analyze video performance metrics and adjust editing style.
