Job summary

Hammer Media in Austin is hiring a Video Editor to shape and deliver long-form YouTube content across multiple shows. You will craft pacing and storytelling, integrate b-roll, music, and graphics, and deliver polished cuts that meet our quality standards.

You will build efficient workflows, manage assets, and optimize thumbnails and titles based on engagement data, all within an in-office East Austin environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of video editing experience, preferably YouTube-first.
• Strong long-form editing instincts for pacing and retention.
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.
• Color grading and audio cleanup expertise for YouTube deliverables.
• Experience mentoring other editors and working in a fast-paced team.

About the Role

Our membership platform, Hammer Elite, serves tens of thousands of paying members across multiple tiers and runs a daily content engine of exclusive shows, bonus content, and community programming. Hammer Media is hiring a Video Editor to help with post-production across our membership content.

What You’ll Do:

• Edit long-form YouTube content across multiple shows
• Shape pacing, structure, and storytelling to maximize viewer retention
• Integrate b-roll, music, graphics, and motion elements to elevate the final product
• Deliver polished final cuts that meet Hammer Media’s quality standards
• Build and maintain organized workflows, templates, and editing guidelines for speed and repeatability
• Ensure proper file management, version control, and asset organization
• Create thumbnails and titles with a testing mindset, continuously optimizing for the highest engagement
• Analyze video performance metrics like CTR, retention, and watch time
• Use insights to refine editing style and improve future videos

Who You Are:

• 2+ years of video editing experience, ideally with YouTube-first content
• Strong long-form YouTube editing instincts: storytelling, pacing, structure, and retention
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
• Experience with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop
• Expertise in color grading, audio cleanup, and export/deliverables for YouTube
• Experience managing or mentoring other editors
• Highly organized and comfortable working in a fast-moving production environment
