Job summary

Hammer Media, an in-office team in East Austin, seeks a Video Editor to handle post-production for our membership content. The role emphasizes long-form YouTube editing across multiple shows, shaping pacing, and delivering polished cuts that meet high standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of video editing experience, ideal for YouTube-first content.
• Strong long-form editing instincts: storytelling, pacing, structure, and retention.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; experience with After Effects and Photoshop.
• Expertise in color grading, audio cleanup, and export/deliverables for YouTube.
• Experience mentoring other editors; highly organized in fast-moving productions.

Responsibilities

• Edit long-form YouTube content across multiple shows.
• Shape pacing, structure, and storytelling to maximize viewer retention.
• Integrate B-roll, music, graphics, and motion elements to elevate the final product.
• Deliver polished final cuts that meet quality standards.
• Build organized workflows, templates, and editing guidelines for speed and repeatability.
• Ensure proper file management, version control, and asset organization.
• Create thumbnails and titles with a testing mindset to optimize engagement.
• Analyze video performance metrics (CTR, retention, watch time) and refine editing accordingly.

About the Role

Our membership platform, Hammer Elite, serves tens of thousands of paying members across multiple tiers and runs a daily content engine of exclusive shows, bonus content, and community programming. Hammer Media is hiring aVideo Editorto help with post-production across our membership content.

What You’ll Do:

Edit and Deliver High-Quality Episodes:

• Edit long-form YouTube content across multiple shows
• Shape pacing, structure, and storytelling to maximize viewer retention
• Integrate b-roll, music, graphics, and motion elements to elevate the final product
• Deliver polished final cuts that meet Hammer Media’s quality standards

Optimize Post-Production + Packaging:

• Build and maintain organized workflows, templates, and editing guidelines for speed and repeatability
• Ensure proper file management, version control, and asset organization
• Create thumbnails and titles with a testing mindset, continuously optimizing for the highest engagement
• Analyze video performance metrics like CTR, retention, and watch time
• Use insights to refine editing style and improve future videos
