Job summary

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) within the Department of Homeland Security is seeking a Victim Assistance Specialist (GS-13) to ensure mandated services for crime victims.

The role emphasizes collaboration with field offices, DOJ components, and government partners to coordinate victim assistance. The incumbent will liaise with prosecutors and local agencies, coordinate resources for victims, and contribute to regional victim assistance networks.

Qualifications

• One of the following to satisfy the Individual Occupational Requirements: Behavioral or social science degree; OR Combination of education and experience; OR Four years of appropriate experience.
• Degree in behavioral or social science; OR Combination of education and experience; OR Four years of relevant experience.
• Specialized experience as described for GS-11/12 levels may apply.

Responsibilities

• Attend client interviews to address the victim's needs and concerns and determining eligibility for victim services.
• Liaise with community organizations, federal, state, local officials, and NGOs regarding victim assistance services.
• Identify resources available to victims at local, regional, and federal levels.
• Provide training, technical assistance, and support to office staff on federal victim assistance matters.
