Job summary

County of Redwood seeks an advocate to provide comprehensive victim services, advocate for rights, and coordinate court-related support. The role includes crisis intervention, referrals, and liaison work with law enforcement and social services.

The position supports grant-funded programs, assists attorneys, and helps prepare witness materials and travel arrangements while ensuring compliance with state statutes and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in sociology, human services, psychology, criminal justice, or related field; one year of related experience is required.
• A valid MN driver's license with no restrictions is required.
• Must successfully complete a criminal history background check.
• Knowledge of criminal procedure and Minnesota Statutes as applicable to victims and witnesses.

Responsibilities

• Provides advocacy services to victims and coordinates reporting requirements per grant agreements.
• Assists attorneys with victim/witness contacts and meetings and coordinates witness management.
• Explains victims' rights, court procedures and decisions under applicable statutes.
• Assists with restitution, prosecutions, and victim impact statements.
• Provides crisis intervention, information, referrals, and transportation as needed.
• Prepares training materials and presents to community groups and professionals.
• Develops and monitors program budgets and grant-funded activities.
