Job Description

What You Can Expect To Be Doing

New Business Development
  • Proactively identify, pursue, and close new market research business with technology sector clients, consistently meeting an annual sales target of $2–3 million
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospects, from first outreach through signed contract
  • Develop compelling pitches and proposals that connect Ipsos’s research capabilities, especially qualitative methods, to clients’ specific business problems
  • Present to prospective clients with confidence and clarity, translating research approaches into clear value for their business
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision‑makers at technology companies
  • Develop deep understanding of clients’ products, competitive landscapes, and strategic priorities to spot new opportunities
  • Anticipate client needs and bring forward ideas before they ask
  • Navigate the fast pace and budget constraints common in the tech sector, crafting solutions that meet clients where they are
Team Building and Collaboration
  • Serve as a founding member of a growing team, helping shape its culture, practices, and structure
  • Partner closely with strategy, project direction, and moderation colleagues to ensure a seamless handoff from sale to delivery
  • Contribute to a flat, collaborative environment focused on collective goals and shared problem‑solving
  • Share market intelligence and client feedback to help refine Ipsos’s offerings for the tech sector

This might be the job for you if you have:

  • Significant experience selling market research services, ideally to technology sector clients
  • Experience at a market research firm serving tech clients, or client‑side research experience at a technology company
  • Solid understanding of market research methodologies, especially qualitative research (focus groups, in‑depth interviews, ethnography, online communities)
  • A true hunter mentality: you’re proactive, tenacious, and energized by opening doors and closing deals
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • A firsthand understanding of the pace, pressures, and budget realities of technology clients
  • Excellent presentation and pitching skills, with the ability to make complex research approaches clear and compelling
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑first attitude
  • Excitement about joining a small, growing team and helping build something from the ground up

We value drive, tenacity, and results over pedigree. If you have the hustle and the skills, we want to hear from you, whatever your path to get here.

If you don’t meet 100% of the requirements, we encourage all who feel they might be a fit for the opportunity to apply. We may consider a variety of backgrounds for a particular role and are also committed to considering candidates for available positions throughout our organization, not just the one you’re applying to!

In accordance with NY/CO/CA/WA law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $160,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on several non‑discriminatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
