Job summary

BNY is seeking a Vice President, Production Services Infrastructure Support to join the Site Reliability Engineering, Production Services team in Lake Mary, Florida.

You will lead 24x7 production database triage, drive SRE practices, and improve observability, automation, and reliability for mission-critical Oracle databases, including 19c RAC/Exadata environments. Collaboration with application teams and capacity planning are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of Oracle DB administration in large-scale production environments.
• Advanced Oracle 19c administration, RAC, Exadata experience.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (OEM, AppDynamics, Splunk).

Responsibilities

• Lead DB triage and incident resolution for 24×7 production environments.
• Drive reliability via SRE principles: SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, observability, and automation.
• Partner with application teams on capacity planning and reliability improvements.
• Promote shift-left engineering and reliability-by-design initiatives.

We?re seeking a Vice President, Production Services Infrastructure Support professional to join our SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEERING, Production Services team in

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• Advance proactive engineering and long-term platform improvements by partnering with application teams on deep-dive shift initiatives to identify recurring issues, address systemic performance or reliability gaps, and implement sustainable fixes that improve end-to-end service health.
• Strengthen the reliability and stability of mission-critical database platforms by bringing 8?10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience in large-scale production environments,using SRE DBA experience, Reliability Engineering, or Database Platform Engineering roles focused on automation, observability, resiliency, and operational excellence.
• Drive reliability-focused operations and reduce operational risk by implementing SRE principles such as SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, observability, automation, capacity planning, and proactive reliability engineering practices.
• Lead DB triage and resolution for production issues by rapidly identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving database-related incidents in 24×7 production environments, minimizing business disruption and restoring services with urgency and precision.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• 8?10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience supporting large-scale mission-critical production environments. Reliability Engineering, or Database Platform Engineering role focused on automation, observability, resiliency, and operational excellence. Strong hands-onexperience with Oracle Database 19c administration, performance tuning, RAC, Exadata environments.
• Advanced expertise in Oracle performance diagnostics using AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Monitoring, SQL Plan Management (SPM), OEM, and related performance tools.
• Experience managing database reliability, capacity planning, incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and service restoration in 24×7 production * environments.
• Experience leveraging monitoring and observability platforms such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), AppDynamics, Splunk, or equivalent enterprise monitoring solutions.
• Driving shift-left engineering practices, database design reviews, and reliability-by-design initiatives.
• Nice to have skills: Proficiency in scripting and automation using Shell, Python, SQL, or similar technologies.Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and automated database deployment frameworks.
