Job summary

Ares Management is seeking an Associate Vice President – Manager, Portfolio Analytics in New York to lead and mentor the finance team. The role involves deal closings, portfolio construction, and rigorous valuation work across funds with focus on performance metrics and investor reporting.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of financial experience, private equity or secondaries exposure, and strong data/analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related financial experience, including public accounting.
• 2+ years of Private Fund or Secondaries firm experience strongly desired.
• MBA, CFA or CPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop analysts and associates, providing ongoing training and feedback.
• Assist in deal closings and allocations across funds, and support ongoing portfolio construction.
• Review quarterly investment report valuations, including diversification metrics and valuation gains/losses.
• Prepare or review quarterly investor reports, and performance returns at portfolio and fund level (TWR, IRR, Multiples).
• Coordinate investment amendments/consents with investment professionals.
• Participate on investment update calls and prepare memo summaries.
• Review data used by Investor Relations for investor presentations and fundraising.
