Job summary

The Bachrach Group is seeking an experienced operations professional to build and oversee trade support infrastructure for a future fund focusing on mortgage-backed securities and fixed-income products. You will own the operating model, daily controls, vendor coordination, and the full trade lifecycle.

Qualifications include 6+ years in financial services, deep MBS knowledge, and a background implementing operations infrastructure in startups or new managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Six+ years in financial services with deep MBS and fixed-income trade operations knowledge.
• Experience building or implementing operations infrastructure, preferably in a startup or new manager.

Responsibilities

• Oversee trade support for residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities, including agency and non-agency products.
• Manage the complete trade lifecycle from execution through settlement and reconciliation.
• Build and document operational workflows, including OMS implementation and daily procedures.
• Coordinate with prime brokers, fund administrators, outsourced operations teams, and other service providers.
• Support whole loans, futures, options, swaps, REITs, ETFs, and related products.
• Oversee derivatives clearing, ISDA documentation, and collateral management.
• Organize and manage large volumes of trade and portfolio data.

A registered investment advisor is seeking an experienced operations professional to build and oversee its trade support infrastructure for a future fund (Starting January 2027), with a primary focus on mortgage-backed securities and other amortizing fixed-income products. Core operations are outsourced, but this individual will own the operating model, daily controls, vendor coordination, and full trade lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee trade support for residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities, including agency and non-agency products.
• Manage the complete trade lifecycle from execution through settlement and reconciliation.
• Build and document operational workflows, including order management system implementation and daily procedures.
• Coordinate with prime brokers, fund administrators, outsourced operations teams, and other service providers.
• Support whole loans, futures, options, swaps, REITs, ETFs, and other related products.
• Oversee derivatives clearing, ISDA documentation, and collateral management.
• Organize and manage large volumes of trade and portfolio data.

Qualifications

• At least six years of relevant financial services experience.
• Deep knowledge of mortgage-backed securities, amortization, paydowns, and fixed-income trade operations.
• Strong understanding of settlements, reconciliations, trade breaks, and the securities trade lifecycle.
• Experience building or implementing operations infrastructure, ideally within a startup or newly formed investment manager.
• Working knowledge of derivatives operations and collateral management.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Hands-on and flexible approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

The role offers potential advancement into portfolio management or a Head of Operations position.
