Job description

Komatsu is a world-leading manufacturer of construction, mining, forestry, and heavy industrial equipment, and has an opening for a Vice President of Sales for our East Region Company Owned Dealership.

Job Overview

The Vice President of Sales will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute short-term and long-term strategies to achieve targeted goals in the heavy construction equipment marketplace. This role provides strategic leadership to grow, develop, and drive profitable sales and rental revenue. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, in-depth market knowledge, and awareness of industry trends.

Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Establish, implement, and communicate strategic directions to enhance business performance and growth.
  2. Coordinate across all business groups through effective communication.
  3. Review financial metrics and KPIs to drive performance and accountability.
  4. Develop and implement sales programs with OEM partners to increase revenue and market share.
  5. Manage the sales opportunity pipeline and forecast reporting.
  6. Create and oversee the annual operating plan and budget for the department.
  7. Build talent within the team through development plans and coaching.
  8. Design marketing strategies to increase customer awareness and brand preference.
  9. Participate in industry associations, meetings, and trade shows.
  10. Collaborate with Accounting to resolve overdue or disputed receivables.
  11. Gather market intelligence on current conditions, competition, and pricing.
  12. Ensure safety policies and best practices are followed to promote a zero-harm culture.
Qualifications/Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or related field.
  2. Knowledge of the construction equipment dealership business model.
  3. At least 15 years of managing a retail capital equipment sales organization.
  4. Strong analytical skills for financial and data analysis.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting to groups.
  6. Familiarity with dealer business systems, CRM, online quoting tools, and market data systems.
  7. Strong negotiation skills.
