Vice President of Sales

Onsite or Remote:

Komatsu, a world-leading manufacturer of construction, mining, forestry, and heavy industrial equipment, has an opening for a Vice President of Sales for our East Region Company-Owned Dealership.

The Vice President of Sales will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute short-term and long-term strategies to achieve targeted goals in the heavy construction equipment marketplace. This role provides strategic leadership to grow, develop, and drive profitable sales and rental revenue. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of the market, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.

Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Establish, implement, and communicate the department's strategic direction to enhance business performance and growth.
  2. Coordinate across all business groups to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
  3. Review financial performance metrics and KPIs to drive accountability and improve performance.
  4. Lead sales programs with OEM partners to increase revenue and market share.
  5. Manage the sales opportunity pipeline and forecast reporting.
  6. Develop and oversee the department's annual operating plan and budget.
  7. Build talent within the department through development plans and coaching.
  8. Design marketing strategies to boost customer awareness and brand preference.
  9. Participate in industry associations, meetings, and trade shows.
  10. Work with Accounting to resolve overdue and disputed accounts receivable.
  11. Gather market intelligence on conditions, competition, and pricing to inform strategy.
  12. Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed to promote a zero-harm culture.
Qualifications/Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or related field.
  2. Knowledge of the construction equipment dealership business model.
  3. Fifteen years of experience managing a retail capital equipment sales organization.
  4. Strong analytical skills for financial statement analysis and decision-making.
  5. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to various audiences.
  6. Knowledge of dealer systems, CRM, online quoting tools, and market data systems (e.g., Construct Connect, Rouse, EDA).
  7. Strong negotiation skills.
