Job description

About Peacock Alley

For more than five decades, Peacock Alley has helped people create beautiful, comfortable homes. Recognized by Oprah Daily and other leading lifestyle authorities as an industry standard-bearer in premium bedding, Peacock Alley is synonymous with luxury, craftsmanship, and timeless design. As the brand enters its next chapter of global growth, we are building the team that will shape what Peacock Alley becomes for the next 50 years.

The Opportunity

As VP of Product Development & Sourcing, you'll shape the next generation of our brand. If you're excited about building products that combine luxury, innovation, and lasting value, we'd love to hear from you.

This new position will lead the modernization of a 50-year-old luxury product line and help define where Peacock Alley goes next as the brand continues its global growth and reports to the CEO.

We're looking for a rare leader who combines creative vision with operational excellence. This person will anticipate emerging trends before they reach the market, expand our product categories, evolve our best-selling collections, cultivate new manufacturing partnerships, and create products that are both commercially successful and unmistakably Peacock Alley. It's a highly strategic role requiring equal parts merchant, product strategist, sourcing expert, brand steward, and operator — someone as comfortable setting long-term product vision as leading the cross-functional execution to deliver it.

What You'll Do
Lead Product Strategy & Development
  • Own the long-term product strategy and innovation pipeline, driving new products from concept through commercialization.
  • Anticipate lifestyle, design, hospitality, and consumer trends 12–24 months ahead, translating them into products customers don't yet know they want.
  • Identify new categories and line extensions while evolving best-selling collections through material innovation, construction improvements, and thoughtful pricing architecture.
  • Develop aspirational hero products and accessible extensions that broaden the customer base without diluting our luxury positioning.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Executive Leadership to turn competitive analysis and customer insight into product strategy.
  • Travel regularly to domestic and international markets, trade shows, and vendor sites to spot emerging trends, source new materials, and discover manufacturing capabilities.
Own the Product Portfolio
  • Lead end-to-end lifecycle management: commercialization, line extensions, rationalization, repositioning, and end-of-life decisions.
  • Evaluate portfolio performance using financial, operational, and customer data to improve profitability and reduce complexity.
  • Maintain a curated assortment that reflects our luxury positioning while supporting future growth.
  • Align Design, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Executive Leadership behind the portfolio.
Build Strategic Manufacturing Partnerships
  • Build and expand a world-class network of mills, artisans, and suppliers that elevate quality, innovation, speed, and cost competitiveness.
  • Identify new domestic and international manufacturing capabilities beyond our existing vendor network.
  • Negotiate product solutions that improve margin without compromising Peacock Alley's quality standards.
  • Evaluate partners on quality, scalability, sustainability, innovation, and long-term strategic fit.
Drive Commercialization
  • Guide products from concept through production readiness and successful market launch.
  • Lead stage-gate development and drive continuous improvement across commercialization workflows.
  • Deliver launches on time, on budget, and above quality and commercial expectations.
Lead & Develop Your Team
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Product Development & Sourcing organization.
  • Build a collaborative, accountable, solutions-oriented culture that supports both creativity and operational discipline.
  • Serve as an executive leader and brand steward, representing the product organization internally and externally.
What Success Looks Like
  • Revenue from new products and line extensions
  • Gross margin performance across the portfolio
  • Strength and depth of the innovation pipeline and product roadmap
  • Quality of strategic manufacturing partnerships
  • On-time, on-budget product launches
  • Team development and organizational capability
What You Bring
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in product development, merchandising, or sourcing ideally in home textiles, soft goods, or an adjacent luxury category.
  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Science, Industrial Design, Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • A proven track record of taking products from concept to market and hitting revenue and margin targets.
  • Deep sourcing and manufacturing expertise, including building vendor relationships from scratch, domestically and internationally.
  • Strong merchant instincts backed by analytical rigor and data-driven decision making.
  • Experience building and leading a product development organization.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to contribute as a member of the senior leadership team.
  • Demonstrated ability to align diverse cross-functional stakeholders around a shared product vision.
  • Proficiency with PLM systems, Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace, and financial/analytical reporting tools.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly, both domestically and internationally.
You'll Stand Out If You Have
  • Experience in luxury home textiles, fine bedding, or a premium lifestyle brand.
  • Established relationships with domestic and/or international textile mills and manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with sustainable sourcing practices and supply chain transparency.
  • Background in DTC and wholesale channel product strategy.
  • Experience in hospitality or contract textile markets.
