Job summary

EverOn is seeking a Vice President, Preconstruction to lead end-to-end preconstruction for the U.S. data center portfolio, including estimating, budgeting, design-phase reviews, procurement strategy, and scheduling.

You will drive estimating accuracy, standardization, and continuous improvement while building leading teams across estimating, procurement, scheduling, and design coordination. This role partners with HR to recruit top talent and ensures safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a strategy for preconstruction aligned with company growth, partnering with executive leadership.
Oversee preconstruction activities across ground-up, brownfield, retrofit, and fit-out datacenter projects, ensuring estimates, budgets, and schedules are aligned with expectations.
Provide oversight of estimating quality and budget development at each design milestone, identifying cost and schedule risks.
Lead the development of conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP-level estimates with defensible pricing.
Establish constructability review and value engineering processes with design teams to optimize cost and performance.
Own preconstruction scheduling and ensure milestones are integrated into the project timeline.
Coordinate with BIM and digital take-off tools to improve accuracy and collaboration.
Build and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams across estimating, procurement, scheduling, and design coordination functions.
Partner with HR to recruit, retain, and develop top preconstruction talent.
Own preconstruction budgets, forecasts, and financial performance with strong cost control.
Review estimates and proposals prior to client submission and ensure scope/budget accuracy.
Lead contract negotiation and commercial strategy during preconstruction with subcontractors and vendors.
Ensure compliance with regulations and safety planning during preconstruction and construction.
Develop risk management strategies and contingency plans for preconstruction activities.
Build relationships with clients and stakeholders as an executive point of contact.

The Vice President, Preconstructionis responsible forthe end-to-end preconstruction phase of EverOn’s data centerconstruction portfolio across the U.S., encompassing conceptual and detailed estimating, budgeting, design-phase constructability review, procurement strategy, and preconstruction scheduling.

This role provides leadership across all phases of project pursuit and planning, from feasibility and conceptual design through GMP/final budget and successful handoff to the construction operations team, ensuring projects are set up to be delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The VP will drive estimating accuracy, standardization, and continuous improvement, while building and leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams across estimating, procurement, scheduling, and design coordination functions.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for preconstruction and technical planning aligned with company growthobjectives, partnering with executive leadership to integrate estimating, procurement, scheduling, and design coordination into a unified preconstruction model.
Oversee all preconstruction activities across ground-up, brownfield, retrofit, and fit-out datacenterprojects, ensuring conceptual estimates, budgets, and schedules areaccurate, competitive, and aligned with client and contractual expectations.
Provide oversight of estimating quality and budget development at each design milestone, proactivelyidentifyingcost and schedule risks and implementing mitigation strategies before projects transition to construction.
Lead the development of conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP-level estimates, ensuring consistentmethodology,accuratequantity take-offs, and defensible pricing across the portfolio.
Establish and enforce robust constructability review and value engineering processes, partnering with design teams tooptimizecost, schedule, and operational performance without compromising quality.
Own preconstruction scheduling, ensuring design, permitting, procurement, and bid milestones are integrated into an overall project timeline that supports on-time construction starts.
CoordinatewithBIMand digital estimating tools to enhance take-off accuracy, collaboration, and transparency across preconstruction teams.
Build, lead, and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams across estimating, procurement, scheduling,establishingclear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
Partner with HR to recruit,retain, and develop top-tier preconstruction talent, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional development.
Ownpreconstructionbudgets, forecasts, and financial performance, ensuring strong cost control,accuratereporting, and alignment with businessobjectives.
Review estimates and proposals prior to client submission, approvescopeand budget assumptions, and ensure financial discipline across all pursuits tooptimizewin rate and profitability.
Lead contract negotiation and commercial strategy during the preconstruction phase, securing favorable terms with subcontractors, vendors, and partners ahead of buyout.
Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements, building codes, and industry standards throughout the preconstruction process, while supporting robust safety planning for construction phase execution.
Develop and oversee risk management strategies across preconstruction functions, ensuringappropriate contingencyplanning, mitigation measures, and insurance coverage areestablishedprior to construction start.
Build andmaintainstrong relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and key stakeholders, acting as an executive point of contact during pursuit and preconstruction for major projects and strategic partnerships.
Identifyand implement innovative technologies, methodologies, and best practices to enhance estimating accuracy, improve efficiency, and reduce preconstruction cycle time.
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure estimating accuracy, bid win rate, and preconstruction schedule performance, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
Lead initiatives to standardize processes, streamline workflows, and enhance the handoff of budget, scope, and schedule information from preconstruction to construction operations.
