Job description

Vice President of Managed Technology Services

Istonish delivers exceptional technology services with uncompromising integrity, operational excellence, and a relentless commitment to customer success. We help organizations maximize the return on their technology investments through best‑in‑class IT operations, secure infrastructure management, and innovative solutions that elevate customer experiences. Operating with the agility of a start‑up and the proven capability to support enterprise clients, Istonish is driven by a culture where our customers’ goals become our own.

Position Overview

Istonish is seeking a visionary Vice President of Managed Technology Services to lead and elevate our growing team of technology professionals. This is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of a dynamic managed services provider (MSP) that delivers end-to-end IT solutions — from custom software development and around-the-clock technical support to full IT outsourcing — for clients ranging from small businesses to large enterprises, with a strong focus on State and Local Public Sector organizations. The desired applicant has a strength in operations optimization in a technology organization, deep understanding of delivery frameworks including ITIL (information technology infrastructure library), SDLC (software development life cycle) and Agile, and has proven experience optimizing technology operations. Additionally, the person will lead our continued adoption of artificial intelligence strategies. The VP of Managed Technology Services partners closely with executive leadership, sales, and client-facing teams to ensure technology solutions are operationally sound, resource-efficient, and aligned with business growth.

Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & Service Delivery Leadership
  • Lead and develop multi-disciplinary teams across Engineering, Development, Service Desk/Customer Care, Service Delivery, and Field Services.
  • Own day-to-day IT operations for both internal systems and client environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and predictable service outcomes.
  • Establish and enforce operational standards, performance metrics, SLAs, and KPIs that drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all internal and client environments are fully, accurately, and continuously documented to support efficient delivery and SLA adherence.
Process Optimization & Operational Excellence
  • Architect, implement, and continuously refine IT operational processes aligned with ITIL and MSP best practices.
  • Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks across service delivery workflows; implement automation-first and AI-enabled solutions to reduce manual effort.
  • Lead disciplined change, incident, problem, and request management practices to improve service stability and speed.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives that improve service quality, operational efficiency, and margin performance.
Workforce Capacity & Efficiency Management
  • Design and manage workforce capacity models that balance demand, skill sets, utilization, and cost efficiency.
  • Optimize team structure, staffing plans, and resource allocation to ensure the right skills are available at the right time.
  • Leverage metrics, forecasting, and tooling to proactively manage workload, prevent burnout, and improve productivity.
  • Partner with HR and leadership to support talent development, role clarity, and scalable organizational growth.
  • Own the overall security posture for Istonish and managed client environments.
  • Ensure compliance with SOC 2 and other regulatory or contractual requirements.
  • Develop and execute cybersecurity roadmaps, governance models, and policies aligned with evolving threat landscapes.
  • Embed security and risk management into operational processes and service delivery standards.
Technology Strategy & Solutions Architecture
  • Develop and maintain a 3–5 year technology and enterprise architecture roadmap aligned with business objectives and scalable MSP operations.
  • Evaluate, select, and integrate emerging technologies—including AI, automation, and analytics—to optimize operations and enhance client outcomes.
  • Oversee solution design and productization across managed service offerings, ensuring operational feasibility and repeatability.
  • Balance innovation with operational discipline to ensure solutions can be delivered efficiently at scale.
Client, Sales & Business Partnership
  • Partner with sales and client-facing teams to support solution design, technical due diligence, and key client engagements.
  • Contribute to pricing models, capacity assumptions, and solution scoping to ensure profitable and executable offerings.
  • Serve as a trusted operational and technical advisor to clients, reinforcing confidence in service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for new revenue through innovation, service enhancement, and operational differentiation.
  • Oversee third-party vendors, platforms, and tools critical to service delivery and internal operations.
  • Rationalize and optimize the technology stack to reduce complexity, improve efficiency, and control costs.
  • Prioritize development, integration, and support initiatives based on business impact and operational value.
Required Technical Expertise
  • Proven leadership in IT operations, infrastructure, cloud technologies, and service delivery within an MSP or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of service management frameworks, cybersecurity principles, automation, and systems architecture.
  • Demonstrated success operating in ITIL-based environments with measurable operational improvements.
  • Ability to independently lead complex initiatives, design scalable solutions, and provide clear technical and operational direction.
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
  • Operationally focused leader who thrives in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments.
  • Data-driven and process-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong communicator able to translate complex technical concepts into business-relevant outcomes.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-focused with the ability to influence across teams and functions.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, including IT operations and service delivery within an MSP or similar services-driven organization.
  • Demonstrated experience driving process optimization and workforce efficiency at scale.
  • Hiring Salary Range: $180,000 – $200,000 annually (commensurate with experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market alignment). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful background check verification.
