Job description

AC Future is seeking a Vice President of Investor Relations to lead venture and private capital engagement across our current and future funding rounds. Reporting directly to the CFO, this executive will own our relationships with venture capital firms, family offices, and technology investors, the three constituencies that will fund the next chapter of this company.

This is not a communications role. We are looking for someone who already has partner-level access at the funds that write checks into deep technology, mobility, and advanced manufacturing, and who can turn that access into term sheets. The VP will work alongside the CFO, CEO, and executive leadership to sharpen our investment thesis, build a live pipeline of qualified capital, and carry investors from first conversation through diligence to close.

The right candidate walks in the door with a network, not a plan to build one.

Key Responsibilities
Venture Capital Development
  • Build and manage a partner-level pipeline across venture capital firms investing in climate technology, mobility, AI, housing innovation, and advanced manufacturing.
  • Own warm-path origination. Map target funds by thesis, stage, check size, and portfolio adjacency, then work the introductions that actually convert.
  • Track the movement of individual partners between funds and maintain the relationships that follow them.
  • Understand the internal mechanics of venture decision making: partner meetings, investment committee cadence, champion dynamics, and what kills a deal in the room.
  • Support the CFO and CEO through pitch meetings, partner meetings, and follow-on diligence sessions.
Family Office and Private Wealth Coverage
  • Develop direct relationships with single-family and multi-family offices, including those investing directly rather than through fund allocations.
  • Navigate the distinct rhythm of family office capital: longer horizons, principal-driven decisions, less formal process, and a strong preference for relationship continuity.
  • Identify family offices with existing exposure to real assets, housing, energy, or mobility, where AC Future's thesis lands on familiar ground.
  • Cultivate access to family office networks, syndicates, investor summits, and private capital communities.
Technology and Strategic Investors
  • Build relationships with corporate venture arms, strategic investors, and technology-focused crossover funds.
  • Translate AC Future's technology stack, manufacturing roadmap, and commercialization strategy into language that a technical diligence team will respect.
  • Identify strategic investors where capital arrives with distribution, supply chain leverage, or manufacturing capability attached.
  • Coordinate strategic conversations carefully with executive leadership, keeping commercial partnership discussions and investment discussions on separate but parallel tracks.
Pipeline Discipline and Reporting
  • Maintain a rigorous, current view of every prospect: stage, owner, next step, expected timeline, and probability.
  • Keep follow-up tight. Information requests answered in days, not weeks.
  • Deliver regular pipeline reviews to the CFO and executive leadership, including honest market feedback when the answer is no and why.
  • Cultivate relationships between rounds so the next raise starts warm rather than cold.
  • Monitor venture funding conditions, valuation benchmarks, and sector sentiment relevant to AC Future.
Investment Narrative and Materials
  • Partner with the CFO and CEO to strengthen the investment thesis and the story around it.
  • Build and refine pitch decks, data rooms, investment memos, financial narratives, and investor FAQs.
  • Tailor the narrative to the audience. A growth-stage venture partner, a family office principal, and a corporate development lead need three different conversations.
  • Quarterback diligence across finance, legal, operations, and engineering.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, or a related field. MBA a plus, track record more important.
  • 7+ years across venture capital, growth equity, investment banking, corporate development, or private-company fundraising.
  • Demonstrated participation in closed private financing rounds. Be prepared to speak to specific rounds, your role, and the outcome.
  • Existing partner-level relationships across venture funds, family offices, or technology investors that you can activate immediately.
  • Fluency in private company financing: preferred structures, SAFEs and convertibles, cap table mechanics, dilution, pro rata rights, liquidation preferences, and valuation methodology.
  • Command of financial statements and the ability to defend a model under scrutiny.
  • Exceptional executive presence. You will sit across from people who evaluate conviction for a living.
Preferred
  • Capital raised for climate technology, mobility, automotive, AI, advanced manufacturing, housing technology, or infrastructure companies.
  • Experience with hardware-plus-software businesses where diligence spans both technical and industrial questions.
  • Growth-stage, strategic, or pre-IPO round experience.
  • Established relationships with international investors, particularly in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
  • Working knowledge of placement agents, investment banks, and financial advisors, and clear judgment about when to use them.
