JOB SUMMARY

The Vice President of Human Resources is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for developing and executing human resources strategies that support the organization’s overall business objectives. This role oversees all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, organizational development, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, and workplace culture. The VP of HR plays a critical role in shaping the company’s culture and ensuring alignment between people strategies and business goals.

MAJOR DUTIES
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team on all human capital matters, providing insights to enhance organizational effectiveness and drive business performance.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives to support growth, innovation, and scalability.
  • Oversee talent acquisition strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent for all levels of the organization.
  • Implement leadership development programs to build a pipeline of future leaders.
  • Ensure robust onboarding, training, and career development programs to maximize employee engagement and retention.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture that aligns with the organization’s values.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement strategies to enhance satisfaction and productivity.
  • Lead initiatives to resolve employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, TCSG Policies and workplace safety standards.
  • Establish policies and procedures to mitigate organizational risks related to employment practices.
  • Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to foster an equitable work environment.
  • Oversee HR analytics and reporting to track key performance indicators and inform decision-making.
  • Continuously improve HR systems, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage the HR budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Serves as Title IX coordinator to ensure workplace compliance.
  • Plans, organizes and manages special projects for the president, assistant commissioner, deputy commissioner or assistant commissioner.
  • Other duties as assigned
COMPETENCIES
  • Knowledge of the mission of postsecondary vocational/technical education

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree *and* Five (5) years of related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience serving as a Vice President of Human Resources, Chief Human Resources Officer, or equivalent senior human resources executive at a college or university. Alternatively, significant experience in a senior human resources leadership role reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, Chief Human Resources Officer, or equivalent executive. Demonstrated success leading strategic human resources, talent acquisition and retention, employee relations, compensation and classification, benefits administration, organizational development, leadership development, performance management, compliance, and culture transformation in a higher education setting. Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in a related field *and* Seven (7) years of related work experience *OR* master's degree *and* Three (3) years of related work experience--Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a -year-over-year basis.
