Job summary

State Theatre New Jersey in New Brunswick, NJ, seeks a Vice President of Development to lead our philanthropic strategy, major gifts, and contributed income. You will build a bold, integrated program working with the President/CEO and Board to enhance donor engagement and long‑term financial sustainability within a $12–14 million operating budget.

You will cultivate high‑capacity donors, energize Board participation, and create new pathways for philanthropy while guiding annual campaigns,

Qualifications

Seven or more years of progressive nonprofit fundraising experience, including major gifts.
Three or more years of management experience leading development functions.
Strong interpersonal, cultivation, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis to inform donor strategies.
Familiarity with volunteer boards of Trustees and Development Committees.

Responsibilities

Lead development strategy and annual fundraising campaigns to grow contributed income.
Personally identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors ($10,000+).
Develop corporate and private foundation support and manage signature events.
Oversee board engagement, messaging, and board giving programs.
Partner with Marketing/Communications to align donor relations with branding.
Supervise Development staff and manage the development budget.
