Preston Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a leading US contractor to appoint a Vice President of Construction for a major data center project in Austin, Texas. The role will oversee delivery, commercial performance and client relationships for a large-scale data center build.

The candidate will direct senior teams, manage budgets and risk, and drive preconstruction-to-construction transitions. A strong leadership track record in mission critical construction is essential.

Preston Recruitment is partnering with a leading US general contractor to appoint a Vice President of Construction for a major data center construction opportunity connected to a $5 billion development programme.

This is an opportunity for an established mission critical construction leader to take executive responsibility for delivery, commercial performance, client relationships and the teams building complex data center infrastructure.

The Role:

• Lead construction delivery, maintaining accountability for safety, quality, schedule and financial performance.
• Direct Project Executives and senior project teams, ensuring resources match delivery demands.
• Oversee budgets, forecasts, commercial risk and project recovery plans.
• Act as a senior client contact, resolving escalations and building long-term relationships.
• Oversee preconstruction planning, subcontractor strategy and the transition into construction.
• Recruit, mentor and develop senior construction leaders.

Your Background:

• A strong track record delivering large-scale data center or mission critical construction projects.
• Experience operating at VP, Operations Director, Project Director or Senior Project Executive level.
• Strong commercial judgement and experience leading senior delivery teams.
• A clear understanding of complex MEP infrastructure, commissioning requirements and critical handover milestones.
