Talent Edge Recruiting is assisting with the search for a VP of Pre-Construction in Watkinsville, GA. This onsite role oversees estimating, budgeting, scheduling and bid strategy, leading a team of five estimators and guiding major bids.

The role requires 10+ years in construction, including heavy civil, with strong risk and margin management. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate as Georgia-based professionals are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full pre-construction function: estimating, budgeting, scheduling and bid strategy.
• Lead and mentor a team of 5 estimators, from senior to junior.
• Review and approve large and complex bids, GMPs and cost models.
• Develop pricing strategy and drive go/no-go decisions on pursuits.
• Partner with operations, project executives and leadership for smooth project handoffs.
• Analyze risk, constructability and value-engineering opportunities.
• Standardize estimating processes, templates and controls.
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors and key partners.
• Support business development with client presentations and pre-award strategy.

VP of Pre-Construction | Watkinsville, GA (Onsite)

Compensation: $200K–$250K base, with bonus potential of up to 30%.

About the Role

Our client is a $90M commercial construction company in Watkinsville, GA, and it is growing. They are looking for a VP of Pre-Construction to own the entire pre-construction function and build the systems and team that will carry it through the next stage of growth. This is a senior leadership seat. You will stay close to the major bids while setting the strategy for how the company prices, pursues and wins work.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee the full pre-construction function: estimating, budgeting, scheduling and bid strategy
• Lead and mentor a team of 5 estimators, from senior to junior
