Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership, Vision & Execution – articulate a compelling vision for the online/global campus and translate it into measurable growth and academic quality.
  • Program Development and Oversight – lead design, implementation, and continuous improvement of NMSU Global programs.
  • Partnership & Employer Engagement – cultivate relationships with employers, community orgs, and government agencies.
  • Faculty & Academic Collaboration – work with deans, department heads, and faculty to integrate online programs across the University.
  • Student Access & Support – ensure programs are inclusive and supportive of all students.
  • Assessment & Quality Assurance – establish metrics and reporting structures for program effectiveness.
  • Operational & Administrative Leadership – oversee budgets, staffing, policies, and operational processes.
  • External Representation – serve as a visible ambassador for NMSU in online education forums.
  • Change Management & Organizational Development – lead through ambiguity and continuous improvement.
  • Student Success – commitment to student success at core mission.

Vice President, NMSU Global

New Mexico State University (NMSU) invites applications for the Vice President, NMSU Global. The role reports directly to the President and works closely with the Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs and Finance, and partners across the university.

The incumbent will lead the expansion of the online and hybrid educational model, develop staffing and operational processes, foster partnerships with state universities and industry, and ensure student access and success. The role also manages a multi‑million‑dollar budget, provides operational leadership, and represents the university in external forums.
