Job description

The VP, M&A Integration serves as the central program leader for the Integration Management Office (IMO), responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating execution of post-merger integration initiatives across the combined platform. While overseeing all core integration workstreams, this role has primary responsibility for systems integration, enterprise application consolidation, data migration, reporting standardization, process harmonization, and technology-enabled operating model execution. The role serves as a trusted advisor and liaison across workstreams, helping surface dependencies, facilitate decisions, and translate agreed priorities into coordinated execution.

This individual will work closely with IT, Finance, HR, shared services, and business leaders to ensure critical platforms, processes, and data environments are integrated effectively while minimizing business disruption. This is a high-visibility, high-accountability role in a PE-backed environment where speed, discipline, and hands-on execution matter equally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate execution of enterprise systems integration initiatives
  • Coordinate ERP, financial systems, CRM, HRIS, project management, business intelligence, and other operational platform consolidation efforts from planning through stabilization.
  • Develop and coordinate execution of systems integration roadmaps covering application rationalization, platform selection, data migration, testing, cutover planning, user readiness, and post-implementation support.
  • Facilitate alignment of master data structures, reporting hierarchies, workflows, security models, interfaces, and data governance standards across legacy organizations.
  • Partner with technical teams and external vendors to identify and mitigate risks involving data quality, cybersecurity, infrastructure, system performance, and business continuity.
  • Establish key performance indicators to monitor technology integration progress, system adoption, issue resolution, and operational readiness.
  • Help ensure systems and process decisions create a scalable foundation for future acquisitions and platform growth.
IMO Program Management
  • Maintain and coordinate the master integration plan, including systems dependencies, workstream coordination, milestone accountability, resource requirements, and escalation protocols.
  • Stand up and operate the IMO operating rhythm through weekly status reviews, technical workstream meetings, executive steering updates, and cross-functional dependency reviews.
  • Maintain a live integration scorecard with clear status on systems readiness, conversion milestones, risks, decisions, and stabilization metrics for executive and board visibility.
  • Identify integration blockers proactively, facilitate resolution, and **escalate** issues that require executive decisions or cross-functional tradeoffs.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing, change management, training, and adoption activities in partnership with workstream leaders.
Cross-Functional Workstream Coordination
  • Coordinate integration activities across IT, Finance, HR, Operations, shared services, client delivery, and commercial functions, with systems and process integration serving as the foundation for execution.
  • Partner with the CTO on AI adoption rollout and extension of company technology programs to the full combined platform.
  • Interface with business-unit EVPs and Presidents to define systems requirements, understand operational dependencies, identify business-continuity risks, and support adoption of standardized platforms and processes.
Stakeholder Management & Communications
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for integration program status.
  • Translate complex technical and operational issues into clear status updates, risk assessments, and decision requests for executive stakeholders.
  • Maintain a disciplined integration communications cadence for workstream leaders, frontline managers, and the Senior Leadership Team.
Value Capture & Synergy Tracking
  • Support the CFO, CHRO, and CTO in tracking integration-related cost, productivity, cost and revenue synergies enabled by systems consolidation and process standardization.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting to support PE sponsor review cycles and board updates.
  • Flag risks to synergy and technology-delivery timelines early and coordinate corrective action plans.
EXPERIENCE
  • 8-15 years of experience leading complex post-merger integration, enterprise transformation, or systems integration programs.
  • Demonstrated success integrating ERP, financial reporting, CRM, HRIS, project management, or other enterprise technology platforms following mergers or acquisitions.
  • Hands-on experience leading large-scale data migration, application consolidation, technology standardization, or business systems transformation initiatives.
  • Experience managing integration activities from initial planning and requirements definition through testing, cutover, adoption, and stabilization.
  • Prior experience in engineering, professional services, project-based, or technical services environments preferred.
  • Prior exposure to PE-backed or highly acquisitive organizations strongly preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise platforms such as Deltek, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, UKG, Salesforce, Power BI, or comparable systems preferred.
  • Consulting experience may be helpful, but candidates must demonstrate hands-on operating responsibility and experience coordinating execution of enterprise systems integration initiatives.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Deep understanding of enterprise systems, application integration, data governance, and business process design.
  • Strong program management discipline, including dependency management, resource planning, governance design, risk mitigation, and executive reporting.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technology, data, and process solutions.
  • Strong understanding of finance, reporting, project accounting, HR, and operational workflows and how enterprise systems support those processes.
  • Executive communication skills with the ability to present technical and operational risks clearly to C-suite, board, and sponsor audiences.
  • Analytical orientation and comfort working with operational metrics, system-readiness dashboards, integration scorecards, and synergy trackers.
  • Effective change leader capable of facilitating adoption across diverse stakeholder groups and legacy organizations.
  • Bias for action and strong follow-through; operates independently and moves fluidly between executive discussions and detailed implementation planning.
What Will Make This Person Exceptional
  • They have personally led ERP consolidations, technology integrations, data migrations, or enterprise platform transformations resulting from M&A activity.
  • They understand where systems integrations fail, including data-quality issues, reporting inconsistencies, workflow misalignment, inadequate testing, insufficient governance, and user-adoption challenges.
  • They can evaluate technical risks while maintaining focus on business continuity, operational outcomes, and value creation.
  • They have built scalable technology and process infrastructure capable of supporting future acquisitions and platform growth.
  • They are viewed as a hands-on integration leader who moves beyond recommendations to coordinate execution and follow-through.
  • They can be credible with technical specialists, business-unit leaders, and PE operating partners while maintaining command of the implementation details.
