Our client is a rapidly growing, private equity-backed field services platform built through the combination of established businesses and an aggressive acquisition strategy. Operating in a highly fragmented market, the company provides essential services through a network of field-based operations serving customers across the United States.
Since its formation, the organization has grown significantly through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions, and it has no plans to slow down. With additional acquisitions in the pipeline and a clear multi-year growth strategy, the company is looking for a Senior Director of Integration to make sure every deal turns into a smooth, well-run addition to the platform rather than a scramble.
The Opportunity
This role owns integration from close through stabilization. Corporate development runs the deal itself, diligence, and getting to close. Once a deal closes, this role takes over: bringing the acquired business into the company's financial systems, ERP, and reporting environment, and making sure the operational pieces come together on schedule. You'll work closely with the leader of M&A integration, along with Finance, Accounting, IT, and Operations, on every deal.
This is a build-and-run role more than a maintain role. The company already has a payroll integration specialist in place, so the rest of the integration muscle, process, and playbook is what you're building and leading. There's a clear path to grow into the leadership seat over the function as the acquisition pace continues.
What You’ll Do
As the leader responsible for acquisition integration, you’ll play a critical role in turning completed transactions into successful, fully integrated businesses. You’ll own the integration process from pre-close planning and Day 1 readiness through system implementation, operational transition, and stabilization.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Lead end-to-end acquisition integrations, from pre-close planning and Day 1 preparation through post-close execution and operational stabilization.
- Build and evolve the integration playbook, creating repeatable processes, tools, and best practices that make each acquisition more efficient and effective than the last.
- Drive financial integration, including alignment of chart of accounts, accounting policies, reporting structures, and financial processes across acquired businesses.
- Own financial data migration and integrity, ensuring data is accurately mapped, migrated, validated, and reflected in reporting throughout the integration process.
- Lead ERP and financial systems implementations, coordinating data mapping, migration, configuration, testing, and go-live activities for acquired companies.
- Integrate core finance processes, including billing, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and month-end close.
- Partner with Corporate Development throughout diligence, identifying integration requirements and risks early so the organization is prepared well before close.
- Identify and mitigate integration risks, spanning financial, technology, systems, and operational areas, and develop practical solutions to keep transactions moving forward.
- Develop integration reporting and dashboards that provide executive leadership with clear visibility into milestones, risks, dependencies, and overall progress.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Finance, Accounting, IT, Operations, and Corporate Development to ensure priorities are aligned and integrations stay on track.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a highly driven operator who combines strong financial and transaction expertise with a hands‑on, builder‑oriented mindset. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working through the details of an ERP migration, solving complex integration issues, and communicating with senior executives.
The successful candidate will bring:
- 5–10+ years of relevant experience in consulting, transaction advisory, M&A integration, corporate development, or ERP/financial systems implementation.
- Experience combining financial rigor with hands‑on execution; backgrounds in investment banking, management consulting, transaction advisory, or M&A integration are particularly relevant.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting operations, and ERP/financial systems.
- A proven track record of leading complex, cross‑functional integrations or transformation initiatives across multiple workstreams.
- Strong project management and organizational capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities, multiple integrations, and tight deadlines.
- The ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across Finance, IT, Operations, and Corporate Development.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to anticipate issues, assess risks, and translate them into actionable solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive leadership.
- Experience working within a private equity‑backed or acquisitive organization is strongly preferred.
- Experience in field services, multi‑site operations, or other service‑based businesses is a plus.
- A finance or accounting background is helpful, but not required.
Why This Opportunity?
This is an opportunity to join a high‑growth platform at a pivotal stage of its acquisition strategy. Rather than stepping into an established integration organization, you’ll have the opportunity to build the function from the ground up and establish the operating model, processes, and playbook that will support the company’s next phase of growth.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Own high‑impact integrations that directly influence how the company scales and creates value through acquisitions.
- Work closely with Corporate Development, executive leadership, and the private equity sponsor, giving you visibility into both transaction strategy and post‑close execution.
- Build the integration infrastructure from the ground up, including playbooks, processes, systems, reporting, and governance that will become foundational to the company’s acquisition strategy.
- Shape how future acquisitions are executed, creating a scalable model that can be replicated across an expanding portfolio.
- Grow into a broader leadership role, with the potential to build and lead the integration function as the platform continues to scale.
