Job summary

WSP USA seeks a full-time Vice President/Connecticut Licensed Environmental Professional to support our Earth and Environment Team in Shelton and Glastonbury, CT. You will lead complex environmental projects and cultivate senior client relationships.

This executive role owns growth, profitability, technical standards, and organizational capability, while guiding cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, innovative solutions and ensure safety across projects. Travel is occasional.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, environmental engineering or a related life sciences field.
  • 12+ years of environmental consulting experience.
  • Strong command of environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices and their business impact.
  • Executive-level leadership and senior stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to adapt to business needs and travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex environmental projects and multidisciplinary delivery with budgets and profitability accountability.
  • Develop and expand a high-level client base; lead strategic proposals, negotiations, scope, pricing and cross-selling.
  • Serve as a senior external representative with clients, agencies, subcontractors, industry groups and community or government entities.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, technical quality, certifications and discipline standards; identify operational skill gaps and risks.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff and embed technical expertise and innovative, future-ready solutions.
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct and company policies; perform other duties as needed.

WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Vice President/Connecticut Licensed Environmental Professional to support our environmental operations, in our Shelton and Glastonbury, CT offices. Job Description
Role Purpose

Own growth, pipeline, profitability, technical standards and organizational capability while leading the most complex projects and senior client relationships.

Your Impact
Essential Accountabilities
  • Lead complex environmental projects and multidisciplinary delivery, with accountability for budgets, profitability, performance, subcontractors and employees.
  • Develop and expand a high-level client base; lead strategic proposals, presentations, contract negotiations, scope, pricing and cross‑selling.
  • Serve as a senior external representative with clients, agencies, subcontractors, industry groups and community or government entities.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, technical quality, certifications and discipline standards; identify operational skill gaps and risks.
  • Provide leadership and performance guidance to assigned staff and embed technical expertise and innovation into project work “trusted advisor” service and future ready solutions for clients.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, environmental engineering or a related life sciences field.
  • 12+ years of environmental consulting experience.
  • Strong command of environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices and their business impact.
  • Executive‑level leadership, influence, analytical judgment and communication across senior management, clients and company‑wide stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to business needs, varied schedules and occasional travel.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $160,000 - $200,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
