Job summary

Meritage Homes is seeking a senior land development leader to drive the opening of new communities on time and within budget. You will oversee all land development activities from tentative maps through to turnover of finished lots for homebuilding operations, ensuring compliance with budgets and schedules.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams while coordinating with municipalities, HOAs, and utilities.

Qualifications

• Ten years of related experience in land development and acquisitions.
• Strong understanding of tentative/final maps, soils, utilities, and civil plans.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, and pro‑formas.
• Familiarity with entitlement processes, permits and zoning issues.
• Proven track record of developing new communities and leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Open new communities on time and on budget from tentative tract map to turnover of finished lots.
• Oversee land development budgets, schedules, and department operations.
• Coordinate with municipalities, HOAs, engineers, and utilities.
• Review surveys, purchase agreements, and legal documents; manage contracts with land development contractors.
• Monitor profitability, respond to customer needs, and ensure regulatory compliance.
