Job description

Our client is a global financial market infrastructure firm that sits at the center of cross-border payments and is subject to direct oversight by U.S. and international regulators. Its Internal Audit function is lean and senior, and regulators rely on its work. The firm is hiring a Vice President to join its Business Audit team.

The Role

This is a working VP seat. You will run a portfolio of audits and manage 2 to 3 AVPs, but you will also stay in the work yourself: designing test strategies, testing, writing work papers, and drafting findings. Coverage spans the business outside of technology and information security, including:

  • Third-party risk, compliance, and risk management
  • Credit risk and model validation
  • Operations, finance, HR, and risk culture
What You Will Do
  • Plan and execute complex audits, from risk assessment and test design through findings and executive summaries
  • Prioritize delivery across your audit portfolio, and review and coach junior team members’ work
  • Validate and track management's remediation of audit and regulatory issues
  • Build relationships with senior management and monitor the business on an ongoing basis to surface emerging risks
  • Contribute to audit committee and senior management reporting, data analytics, and methodology improvements
  • Manage performance, development, and hiring for direct reports and co-source resources
What You Bring
  • 8 to 12 years of internal audit experience in financial services across multiple audit types; a Big 4 start is preferred
  • Currently an AVP or VP leading business or operational audits at a bank, broker-dealer, custodian, market infrastructure firm, or insurer
  • An established record of leading audits and coaching juniors; formal line management is preferred but not required
  • Real comfort with execution: this role does not step back from fieldwork
  • The judgment and confidence to hold positions with senior stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of U.S. bank regulatory expectations
Preferred
  • Third-party risk management audit experience (strongly preferred)
  • Finance or compliance audit experience
  • Experience preparing internal audit MI and committee reporting
  • CIA or CPA
Why This Role
  • Senior visibility in a firm small enough that your work is seen
  • Audit work that regulators rely on directly
  • A broad portfolio paired with formal people management
  • Strong benefits: 23 days of PTO, paid volunteer days, generous parental leave, 401(k) match, and a hybrid schedule
