Job summary

Bruin is seeking a Vice President, Fund Accounting to join its Global Fund Finance team supporting a growing Private Credit business. This role owners accounting and financial reporting for complex private investment funds and interfaces with senior stakeholders across valuations, tax and operations.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in accounting with Big 4 roots and is CPA‑certified, with experience in Private Credit or similar alternative investments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of accounting experience with strong Big 4/public accounting and alternative investments.
• CPA required.
• Experience with Private Credit, Private Equity, BDCs or other complex alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting and financial reporting process for Private Credit and other funds.
• Review quarterly NAV packages, financial statements, capital activity and fund reporting.
• Oversee third-party fund administrators and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Review management fees, incentive fees, carried interest and fund-level calculations.
• Collaborate with investments, valuations, tax, legal and operations on fund matters.
• Manage and develop junior staff, providing technical accounting guidance.
• Analyze portfolio activity and communicate key matters to senior leadership.
• Drive process improvements and automation within Fund Finance.

Our client, a leading global alternative asset manager, is seeking a Vice President, Fund Accounting to join its Global Fund Finance team supporting a growing Private Credit business.

This is a highly visible opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a strong foundation in public accounting and alternative investments to take ownership of the accounting and financial reporting for complex private investment funds.

You'll join an established team with broad exposure across fund accounting, financial reporting, valuations and senior stakeholders within one of the industry's leading alternative investment platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting and financial reporting process for a portfolio of Private Credit and alternative investment funds.
• Review quarterly NAV packages, financial statements, capital activity and other fund reporting.
• Oversee third-party fund administrators and ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of reporting.
• Review management fees, incentive fees, carried interest and other fund-level calculations.
• Partner with internal teams across investments, valuations, tax, legal and operations on fund-related matters.
• Manage and develop junior team members while providing technical accounting guidance and review.
• Analyze portfolio activity and financial results and communicate key matters to senior leadership.
• Drive improvements across processes, controls and automation within the Fund Finance function.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant accounting experience with a strong foundation in Big 4 public accounting and alternative investments.
• CPA required.
• Experience with Private Credit, Private Equity, BDCs, or other complex alternative investment structures.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP financial statements, partnership accounting, fund structures and NAV reporting.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing complex accounting deliverables and managing or developing junior professionals.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across senior internal and external stakeholders.
