Job summary

Atlantic Group, a Southern New Jersey, PE-backed organization, seeks a hands-on Vice President of Finance to partner with the CEO and lead the finance function. This role combines strategic leadership with day-to-day accounting oversight to support growth through acquisitions and organic expansion.

You will drive GAAP adoption, strengthen financial reporting, manage audits, and mentor a lean accounting team while collaborating across the business to inform decision-making and optimize

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• CPA and/or public accounting background strongly preferred.
• Experience as a Controller, VP of Finance, or CFO with ability to operate both strategically and hands-on.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP and external audit management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transition from cash basis to GAAP accounting and improve month-end close timelines.
• Manage external audit relationships, including annual financial statements and SOC 1 audits.
• Lead and mentor a small accounting team while partnering cross-functionally across the organization.
• Act as a strategic partner to operations and the executive leadership team to drive financial initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• CPA and/or public accounting background strongly preferred
• Experience as a Controller, VP of Finance, or CFO with the ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP and external audit management
• Proven experience leading cross‑functional initiatives and partnering with executive leadership
• Prior experience within a private equity‑backed or middle‑market company is highly preferred
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team development skills
