Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a hands-on VP of Finance to lead accounting and financial operations. This role partners with executive leadership to guide strategy, oversee reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and ERP initiatives in a growing, private organization.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in finance with exposure to subscription-based models, and a proven ability to scale finance functions in small to mid-sized companies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with leadership roles.
• Experience as a senior finance leader (Controller/VP of Finance).
• Experience in subscription-based/recurring revenue environments.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, GAAP, and sales tax compliance.
• Experience leading or supporting ERP/system implementations.
• Proven track record in small to mid-sized companies.
• Analytical, organized, and strong communicator.
• Hands-on leadership in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and finance activities including financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
• Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee sales tax compliance and regulatory reporting.
• Partner with executives to support strategic planning and business decisions.
• Manage internal controls, policies, and financial processes.
• Drive ERP optimization and implementation initiatives.
• Analyze financial performance and provide insights to improve operations.
• Collaborate with department leaders to support growth initiatives.
• Build, mentor, and develop the finance team.

Location: 100% Remote (occasional travel within North America, approximately 6-8 trips annually)

Salary Range: $175,000 - $190,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility

Position Summary

A growing privately held organization is seeking a hands‑on VP of Finance to lead accounting and financial operations while serving as a strategic partner to executive leadership. This newly created position will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, process improvement, and ERP initiatives while helping build and scale the finance function.

This role is ideal for a finance leader who has experience in small to mid‑sized organizations, subscription‑based business models, and system implementations, and who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and finance activities, including financial reporting, month‑end close, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee sales tax compliance and related regulatory reporting.
• Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning and key business decisions.
• Manage internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support ERP system optimization and implementation efforts.
• Analyze financial performance and provide insights to improve operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with department leaders to support growth objectives and business initiatives.
• Build, mentor, and develop the finance team as the organization continues to expand.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Prior experience as a Controller, VP of Finance, Director of Finance, or similar senior finance leader.
• Background in subscription‑based or recurring revenue business environments.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, GAAP, and sales tax compliance.
• Experience leading or supporting ERP/system implementations.
• Proven success in a small to mid‑sized company setting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a hands‑on leadership role within a fast‑paced environment.
