JCW Group is recruiting for a VP of Finance to lead financial planning, reporting, and audit as the organization builds out its finance function. Based in the Hartford, CT area with a hybrid work structure, this is a high-visibility, hands-on role partnering with the C-suite, board, and investors.

You will drive budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and performance reporting, oversee the close, balance sheet, and internal controls, and scale finance processes to support growth and new partnerships.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred or equivalent certification.
• Experience partnering with C-suite, boards, and investors.
• Growth-stage or PE-backed environment experience is a plus.

JCW is recruiting for a fast-growing, private equity–backed specialty insurance business seeking a VP of Finance to lead financial planning, reporting, and audit as the organization builds out its finance function. This is a high-visibility opportunity for a hands‑on finance leader ready to be a true strategic partner to the C‑suite, board, and investors while shaping the processes and infrastructure that will support the company’s next stage of growth. This role is based in the Hartford, CT area with a hybrid work structure.

What You’ll Do:

• Partner with executive leadership to drive business planning, growth strategy, and performance against plan
• Oversee the close and financial reporting process, including management, board, and investor reporting
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support new partnerships and business expansion
• Manage the external audit relationship and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies
• Oversee balance sheet integrity, cash flow, and fiduciary accounting activities
• Build KPI and performance reporting that gives leadership clear insight into underwriting and business results
• Professionalize finance processes and systems as the organization scales

What They’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred
• Progressive experience across FP&A, controllership, and/or audit, ideally with public accounting roots
• Insurance industry experience required; specialty or E&S exposure strongly preferred
• Solid knowledge of GAAP, with statutory accounting exposure a plus
• Demonstrated experience partnering with executive leadership, boards, investors, and auditors
• Track record of building finance processes in a growth-stage or PE-backed environment
