Job summary

SystemsAccountants seeks a VP Finance to lead and scale its international finance function across multiple entities and jurisdictions, including Germany and Luxembourg. This role partners with the CFO and senior leadership to drive financial strategy, reporting, and controls in a high-growth environment.

The position requires strong accounting, FP&A and ERP experience (NetSuite preferred), proven ability to build scalable processes, and willingness to travel internationally.

Qualifications

• Strong background in finance leadership roles across accounting, audit, controlling and/or FP&A.
• Experience in complex international structures with multiple legal entities.
• Exposure to Germany and Luxembourg finance environments is highly desirable.
• Experience with VC-backed, private equity-backed, or high-growth companies is preferred.
• Proven experience leading and developing international finance teams.

We are supporting a venture capital-backed company in the search for an experienced VP Finance to strengthen and scale its international finance function. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing finance operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions, while partnering closely with senior leadership to support continued growth.

The VP Finance will play a critical role in developing the finance organization, improving processes and systems, and ensuring strong financial reporting, planning, and operational control across the business. The successful candidate will bring a combination of accounting expertise, FP&A capability, and experience operating within complex international structures.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and develop an international finance team, including oversight of local accounting teams across multiple jurisdictions.
• Act as a key partner between the CFO, finance team, and external stakeholders to ensure effective financial operations.
• Oversee accounting processes, financial controls, and reporting activities across global entities.
• Drive improvements to finance systems, processes, and reporting capabilities, including optimization of existing ERP systems.
• Support the implementation of improved planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
• Lead global cash planning, intercompany invoicing, and financial coordination across entities.
• Deliver accurate financial reporting and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop scalable finance processes and identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements.
• Support FP&A activities, including quarterly planning, forecasting, performance reporting, and financial analysis.
• Collaborate with external advisors, auditors, and local tax specialists where required.

Desired Qualifications

• Strong background in finance leadership roles, with experience across accounting, audit, controlling, and/or FP&A.
• Experience working within complex international structures and managing multiple legal entities.
• Previous exposure to Germany and Luxembourg finance environments is highly desirable.
• Experience with VC-backed, private equity-backed, or high-growth companies is preferred.
• Proven experience leading and developing international finance teams.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes, financial controls, and reporting requirements.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite is beneficial.
• Ability to combine operational finance expertise with strategic planning and business partnering.
• Fluent German and English language skills are required.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, including international travel to support business needs.

The salary range for this position is €100,000 – €120,000 – My client may be open to slightly higher salary expectations based on the candidate's experience
