Job summary

New Canaan Community YMCA, Inc. is seeking a Vice President of Family and Youth Development to lead high-quality youth and family programming and drive strategic growth. You will oversee childcare, camp, inclusion and sports programs, ensuring safety, inclusivity, and engagement for all ages.

The role requires collaboration with Directors, budget oversight, and community partnerships. The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership, inspire teams, and develop programs that meet

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Management, Recreational Management, or related field required.
• Four or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or nonprofit setting.
• Direct service experience with youth and families.
• Experience supervising five or more full-time exempt staff.
• CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise program Directors to ensure alignment with the Y’s mission and strategic direction.
• Oversee growth, development, and advancement of Directors under supervision.
• Collaborate with other YMCA Directors to coordinate programs and initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with state and local regulations, program standards, and safety procedures.
• Attend and report at Board of Directors and Committee meetings.
