Job summary

BNY is seeking a Vice President to join the Finance Regulatory Reporting Team in Pittsburgh, PA. This HYBRID role focuses on producing high‑quality external reporting aligned with U.S. Capital Rules (Basel III) and related regulatory requirements.

The role requires 5–7 years in Regulatory Policy or External Reporting, a bachelor’s degree (Accounting preferred), and CPA/GAAP knowledge. You’ll liaise with regulators and lead complex reporting processes while developing strategic reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5–7 years in Regulatory Policy and/or External Reporting with knowledge of U.S. Capital Rules (Basel III).
  • BA/BS with Accounting concentration or equivalent preferred.
  • CPA and GAAP knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy of external reporting analytics.
  • Focus on FFIEC 009 and other Regulatory Reports.
  • Act as external reporting SME for assigned areas.
  • Develop and implement external reporting strategy and improvements.
  • Guide junior External Reporting roles and share expertise.

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, to join our Finance Regulatory Reporting Team. This HYBRID role is located in Pittsburgh, PA.

Overview & Purpose

The Vice President manages the production and quality of the external reporting process, with primary focus on quarterly reports that support the U.S. Capital Rules (Basel III), may also contribute to other reports or data analysis for quantitative impact studies on new regulatory proposals as well.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Ensures reporting and analyzing of external reporting analytics are sound and accurate.
  • Reporting responsibilities primarily focus on the FFIEC 009 and other Regulatory Reports.
  • Assigned business/business partner areas are typically medium to large in size and moderately complex.
  • Applies knowledge of external reporting best practices and requirements.
  • Responsible for investigation, documentation and resolution of issues identified in the reporting process.
  • Recognized as the external reporting point of contact and subject matter expert within the assigned business/business partner areas.
  • Delivers thorough external reporting ensuring accuracy and correctness and transforms data into information for reporting where needed.
  • Contributes to the establishment of the external reporting strategy for the business/business partner area and is responsible for ensuring the implementation of that strategy.
  • Leverages regulatory reporting techniques to achieve business objectives.
  • Provides support for the entire spectrum of the reporting process.
  • Processes complex financial transactions and identifies and analyzes exceptions.
  • Captures day-to-day performance metrics and participates in rotating assignments within the regional and global service centers.
  • Builds strategic relationships to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Liaises with internal and external regulators to ensure compliance to prescribed standards.
  • Supervises, motivates, and guides more junior external reporting roles. No direct reports.
  • Provides technical advice/guidance to less experienced External Reporting roles as needed. Responsibilities are primarily limited to assigned business/business partner areas. However, tasks may produce cross-regional impacts. Modified based upon local regulations/requirements.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
  • The qualified candidate is required to have a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Regulatory Policy and/or External Reporting required with knowledge of U.S. Capital Rules (Basel III) and bank financial products
  • B.A./B.S. with Accounting concentration or equivalent experience is preferred
  • C.P.A. and knowledge of GAAP is preferred
