Job summary

Chugach Electric Association in Anchorage, AK, seeks a Vice President of Engineering to provide overall direction to the Engineering department and oversee the design, construction, and planning of electrical facilities. The role aligns with Chugach’s objectives and requires strong leadership, budgeting, and strategic planning in a dynamic utility environment.

The position emphasizes development of staff, safety, and regulatory compliance while coordinating with executives and external partners

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required; Alaska PE license required.
Ten years of progressive engineering experience with supervisory duties.
Experience in electrical utility design, construction and maintenance of substations, transmission lines.
Experience in a union environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direction and oversee engineering and construction of power delivery facilities.
Review designs and approve construction for reliable service across the system.
Develop and manage annual and long-term construction plans and budgets.
Lead staff development, training, and performance evaluations.
Prepare and administer department budgets and action plans.
Represent the organization in external projects and strategic partnerships.
