Job summary

Universal Orlando Resort seeks a Vice President, Core Business Application Delivery to lead global delivery, modernization, integration, and support of enterprise core business applications, including HR, Workforce Management, Finance, Facilities, and Asset Management systems.

The executive partner with HR, Finance, Facilities, and Cybersecurity to deliver business capabilities and optimize end-to-end processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or highly-relevant equivalent experience is required.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 12+ years’ experience leading the delivery of enterprise business applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with HR, Finance, ERP, or enterprise SaaS platforms, including major implementation or modernization efforts.
  • Experience with core HR / Workforce Management and core Finance processes and integrations.
  • Experience with executive communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Vice President, Core Business Application Delivery is responsible for the global delivery, modernization, integration, and operational support of Universal Destinations & Experience’s enterprise core business applications, including core HR and Workforce Management, Finance, Facilities, and Asset Management systems. This executive leader oversees a global portfolio of enterprise applications that enable critical business operations across UDX, ensuring platforms are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned to business strategy. The role partners with HR, Labor, Finance, Facilities, Tech Services, Operations, Cybersecurity, and other global technology leaders to deliver business capabilities, optimize end-to-end processes, and advance a modern application landscape across global destinations. The Vice President must be able to deliver enterprise applications across complex, global organizations. The leader must be able to manage large-scale programs, vendor and SaaS platforms, integrations, application support, and continuous improvement while building a high-performing delivery organization grounded in quality, reliability, security, financial discipline, and customer focus.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Global Core Business Application Delivery
  • Lead global delivery for UDX core business applications, including core HR, Workforce Management, Finance, Facilities, and Asset Management systems across custom, vendor, SaaS, and integrated platforms.
  • Define and execute the application delivery roadmap in partnership with product, business and technology leaders, aligning platform capabilities to enterprise strategy, process transformation, compliance, and global growth priorities.
  • Own delivery outcomes for major programs, enhancements, integrations, data flows, releases, and platform modernization initiatives; ensure solutions are delivered on time, on budget, and with measurable business value.
  • Establish application delivery standards, governance, prioritization mechanisms, and delivery practices that improve speed, quality, transparency, and consistency across global destinations and functions.
  • Partner with Global Technology Services to drive modernization of enterprise business application architecture, including simplification, integration, automation, rationalization, and scalable global design patterns.
  • Partner with product, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, PMO, and business process owners to ensure solutions are secure, resilient, supportable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Lead strategic vendor, implementation partner, and managed service relationships for enterprise business applications, including performance management, roadmap alignment, commercial discipline, and executive escalation.
Operational Excellence & Application Support
  • Lead global application operations and support for core business systems, using service metrics, KPIs, automation, release discipline, and continuous improvement to improve reliability and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish operating models for incident, problem, change, release, configuration, and environment management across enterprise business applications and integrations.
  • Ensure business-critical platforms meet service level expectations, disaster recovery requirements, security controls, audit needs, and compliance obligations across global markets.
  • Create transparency into portfolio health, delivery performance, technical debt, risk, cost, and support trends through regular executive reporting and operational reviews.
Business Partnership, Team Leadership & Talent Development
  • Partner proactively with executive and functional leaders to understand business needs, prioritize investments, and deliver application capabilities that enable global operations.
  • Build, lead, and develop a global application delivery organization with clear roles, delivery accountability, career paths, and a culture of ownership, inclusion, service, and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen ways of working across engineers, product managers, program managers, engineers, architects, vendors, and support teams to improve delivery predictability and business outcomes.
  • Communicate complex application strategies, risks, tradeoffs, financial impacts, and delivery plans clearly to senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Coach and develop leaders and high-potential talent while fostering collaboration across global destinations, corporate functions, and enterprise technology teams.
Administrative
  • Manage departmental budgets and administrative responsibilities (e.g., labor planning, coverage, standardization); review and approve expenditure with an ownership mindset.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or highly-relevant equivalent experience is required.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 12+ years’ experience leading the delivery of enterprise business applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with HR, Workforce Management, Finance, ERP, or enterprise SaaS platforms, including major implementation, modernization, integration, or global deployment efforts.
  • Demonstrated experience with core HR and Workforce Managements systems and processes, such as employee lifecycle, organization hierarchy, labor planning, scheduling, time and attendance, and payroll integrations.
  • Demonstrated experience with core Finance systems and processes, such as procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report, general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, project accounting, fixed assets, controls, and audit support.
  • Experience working across business process owners, technology teams, vendors, implementation partners, managed service providers, and enterprise functions to define requirements, prioritize demand, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise application architecture, master data, role-based security, reporting and analytics, integrations, release management, cloud/SaaS operations, and application lifecycle management.
  • Experience improving application delivery and support operating models, including governance, service management, release controls, incident/problem management, vendor management, portfolio reporting, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience in executive communication, business-focused data storytelling, relationship building, and decision making; expert at stakeholder and partner management;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.
