Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Houston seeks a Commodities Business Control Vice President to lead the controls agenda for the commodities business and serve as the First Line of Defense.

You will partner with trading, business management, operations and technology to drive proactive risk management and change across Physical Gas, Power, Emissions and related markets. Your leadership will foster sustainable control solutions, support expansion, and strengthen relationships with front-office and control

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of operational risks and controls; design, implement and monitor frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; perform risk assessments and root cause analyses.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage operational and conduct risk for trading and physical commodities.
• Review initiatives to ensure appropriate controls are in place.
• Coordinate trader onboarding to venues and energy platforms; implement platform requirements.
• Assess end-to-end control environment; resolve issues and set best-practice standards.
• Lead front office supervisory controls, attestations and exception management.
• Execute risk programs such as RCSA, risk event reporting, and governance meetings.
• Project manage or consult on control initiatives sponsored by Business Control Managers.
• Prepare and present monthly Control Dashboard and Control Committee updates.
