Job summary

The Institution for Savings in Massachusetts seeks a Vice President of Commercial Lending to cultivate, underwrite and close commercial loans and to maintain a robust commercial loan portfolio. This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending/Senior Commercial Lender.

Responsibilities include managing existing relationships and new loan production, analyzing financial data, negotiating loan structures, and ensuring timely closings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and goal oriented.
• Utilizes strong organizational skills to perform and prioritize a high volume of tasks simultaneously.
• Consistently achieves goals and meets strict deadlines while maintaining excellent attention to context, substance and detail.
• Embraces the team-oriented culture and works collaboratively across the Bank to support the Bank’s strategic growth plans.

• Collects and analyzes financial and related data to determine general creditworthiness, including credit reports, background checks and other information; submits applications to credit analysts for verifications and recommendations.
• Complies loan packages and facilitates negotiation of loan structures with applicants.
• Recommends approval or declination of loans within Bank policies and informs prospective borrower of decision; refers to loan committee for approval as appropriate.
• Ensures loan agreements are complete, and that loan closings and funding occurs in a timely manner.
• Identifies and develops new commercial loan relationships within the Bank’s market.
• Promotes and cross-sells other Bank products and services as appropriate.

Salary Range: $150,000-$200,000

The salary range listed is just one component of the Bank’s total compensation package. Other rewards include fully paid medical, dental and vision insurance, as well as dollar-for-dollar 401(k) match up to 10%; life insurance; disability plan; pension plan after 2 years of service; generous vacation and paid-time off; and quarterly incentive.
