Qualifications

Beltrami Electric Cooperative is seeking an experienced, strategic, and collaborative Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (VP/CFO) to join our executive leadership team due to a retirement in March 2027. This critical leadership role is responsible for ensuring the financial strength, integrity, and long-term sustainability of the Cooperative while supporting our mission of providing safe, reliable, and excellent service to our members.

In This Role, You’ll Have The Opportunity To

• Serve as a strategic advisor to the President & CEO and Board of Directors.
• Lead and develop the Finance, Accounting, Payroll, and Information Technology teams.
• Direct the Cooperative's financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and risk management.
• Ensure financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective internal controls.
• Support long-term infrastructure investments and organizational growth.
• Present financial results and recommendations to leadership, the Board, lenders, and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to strategic planning and organizational success as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
• Build a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.

What Makes You a Good Fit

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field required; Master's degree in related field preferred.
• Minimum five years of senior financial leadership experience.
• Proven expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, capital financing, risk management, and utility accounting.
• Experience with strategic business planning and strategy execution.
• Electric cooperative, utility, public power, or energy industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of RUS accounting standards, CFC financial practices, and industry certifications such as CFPC are a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

• The starting salary range for this position is $197,000 - $235,000.
• Relocation allowance available.
