Job summary

Crow Wing Power in Brainerd, MN is seeking a knowledgeable Financial Analyst to translate financial data into actionable insights, support forecasting, budgeting, and investment analysis, and drive informed decision making across the organization.

You will build and maintain models, monitor cash positions and investments, and present findings to leadership. A bachelor's in finance and 3 years of experience in strategic/financial analysis are required, with knowledge of Excel and BI tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in strategic planning, business analysis, financial analysis, or related analytical role.
• Experience in electric utility industry preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and BI software such as Microsoft BI.

Crow Wing Power has an opportunity for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to enrich our team. The Financial Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and translating financial data into meaningful and actionable insights that help drive efficiency, reliability and informed decision making. This role evaluates financial data, builds forecast models, assesses investments, and translates numbers into financial strategy.

Responsibilities

• Research, determine, implement, and administer Business Intelligence needs based on strategic plan goals and department needs.
• Translate complex data into clear insights for non-technical audiences.
• Present findings, recommendations, and actionable insights to management and decision-makers.
• Perform budget analysis and reporting.
• Construct and maintain financial models.

• Analyze monthly financial data and operational variances.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Education/Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field and three (3) years of experience in strategic planning, business analysis, financial analysis, management consulting, or related analytical role required
• Experience in the electric utility industry or related regulated industry preferred
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
