Job Summary
The Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for driving strategic growth including identifying new business opportunities, cultivating high-value client relationships, and market expansion. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with a proven track record in healthcare staffing, government contracting, proposal management and building partnerships that drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve revenue targets and expand market share within the Department Health Administration (DHA), Department of Defense (DoD), Veterans Affairs, Federal and state sectors.
Pricing Strategy Development: Oversee the process to create competitive pricing models that balance competitiveness, profitability, and compliance with federal, state, and commercial contract requirements.
Proposal Development: Oversee the creation of compelling proposals, RFPs, and bids, ensuring alignment with client needs and Matrix Providers- capabilities.
Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform pricing decisions and position Matrix Providers as a market leader.
Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including geographic expansion, new service lines, and emerging healthcare staffing trends.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a business development team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results-driven performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with program management, operations, recruiting, and finance teams to ensure seamless delivery of staffing solutions and alignment with business goals.
Performance Metrics: Establish and track KPIs to measure the success of business development initiatives, reporting progress to the President and executive team.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor-s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
10+ years of experience in business development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within healthcare staffing or a related industry.
Proven success in securing large-scale contracts in the federal and/or commercial healthcare sectors.
Strong understanding of government contracting processes, GSA schedules, and VA/DoD procurement.
Skills:
Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills with government stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable growth plans.
Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with experience managing remote or distributed teams.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex solutions clearly.
Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and business development analytics.
