Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or aviation-related study.
  • Minimum 20 years of program and construction management experience in aviation facilities for public or private clients.
  • Extensive experience in airport and airline operations and understanding of construction impact on operations.
  • Significant proposal development experience.
  • Proven track record delivering major aviation programs with contract values >$50M and construction >$500M.
  • Strong relationships with local market, contractors, A/E firms, and aviation clients.
  • Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, control, integrate, and evaluate work on client programs to ensure contractual compliance and quality.
  • Manage major aviation programs and project teams from planning through delivery.
  • Plan and evaluate staff performance and resource allocation.
  • Ensure program delivery aligns with schedules and budgets and meets client expectations.

Job description

Hill International is seeking a Vice President – Aviation in the United States. This role is part of the Global Aviation Management team focusing on Program Consulting and Project/Construction Management delivery, business development, and identifying and pursuing opportunities in the public and private sectors for airport facility and infrastructure projects in the U.S. and Canada. The ideal candidate will have experience establishing and maintaining strong client relationships, identifying new opportunities that align with competencies, developing pursuit strategies including key teaming relationships, supporting proposal preparation, delivering effective presentations, and ultimately securing new business through positive on‑time/within‑budget delivery while continuing to monitor and support project delivery.

Responsibilities

Administrative and Technical

  • Plan, organize, control, integrate, and evaluate the work of assigned Client Programs/Projects to ensure that delivery of services complies with contractual obligations and industry standards, exceeding client expectations.
  • Manage major Aviation Programs and Project Teams to successfully complete assigned Consulting, Planning, and Program/Project Management assignments.
  • Plan and evaluate performance of assigned resources and staff.
  • Monitor Hill’s Client Project Assignments to ensure:
    • Program/Projects are carried out per contractual and industry standards.
    • Program/Project financial results meet both client and Hill expectations.
    • Program/Project delivery schedules adhere to client contractual requirements.
  • Conduct client expectation surveys at the onset of services and periodically follow up with client satisfaction interviews throughout the duration of the agreement and at the conclusion to ensure the expectations of the client were exceeded.
  • Assess staffing abilities and identify strategic hires necessary to achieve company goals.
  • Understand existing staffing resources and prepare a plan to ensure industry‑leading staffing.
  • Support recruiting and management of project staff.
  • Utilize existing Hill International training initiatives and adjust to align with the needs of the aviation industry.
  • Provide project management and construction management services for buildings and facilities projects for state, local, federal, and commercial clients, including new development, rehabilitation, and expansion.

Marketing and Sales

  • Identify business, client, and project opportunities consistent with plans and strategy.
  • Establish positive client and partner relationships through successful networking and presentations.
  • Utilize market research, competitor analysis, professional conferences, and other means to identify potential new markets and ways to grow in current markets.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of effective teaming strategies and develop and manage strategic pursuit plans.
  • Maintain a written and visual portfolio of ongoing/completed projects and programs to be provided to the Aviation Marketing Director for future sales efforts.
Qualifications

  • Minimum 20 years of program and construction management experience in aviation facility projects for state, local, federal, and/or commercial clients, with both technical and management responsibilities.
  • Extensive experience in airport and airline operations and understanding of the impact of construction on operational airports.
  • Significant proposal development experience.
  • Proven track record managing and delivering major aviation programs and projects with contract values in excess of $50 million and construction values in excess of $500 million.
  • Strong relationships with local market, contractors, A/E firms, and aviation clients.
  • Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Travel as needed.
