Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Vice President, AI Development position! This is a direct placement opportunity and will be remote in Buffalo, NY. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing:
- You’ll bring an entrepreneurial mindset to turn ideas into tangible solutions, taking products or projects from concept through launch to real users.
- Own and maintain the AI agent runtime platform with 16+ sibling services including TypeScript/NestJS, Python, and Postgres.
- Lead AWS migration from dedicated host infrastructure to ECS/Fargate and RDS under ratified cutover plan.
- Build and harden the autonomous agent kernel, locks, and merge fence enabling safe self-deployment.
- Develop memory system of record including ingestion, provenance, consolidation, and retrieval capabilities.
- Create self-learning loop with audit instruments and pinned open-weights model.
- Build operator console using React, consumer app with React Native, and real-time voice lane.
- Design and implement venture engine for identifying, researching, and launching new business initiatives.
- Take ventures from blank-page proposal through research, product build, and revenue generation.
- Author Architecture Decision Records documenting context, alternatives, safeguards, and outcome reviews.
- Implement security hardening program across three deployment phases with independent re-audit acceptance.
- Build evaluation framework including regression fixtures, break-in tests, and monthly frontier-model audits.
- Work directly with autonomous AI co-founder on daily basis to advance platform capabilities.
- Represent company at universities, Empire AI community, and with partners and vendors.
What You'll Need to Have:
- Entrepreneurial background having started and shipped a product, company, or project to real users.
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, AI/ML, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent discipline.
- Production experience shipping code with TypeScript/Node and Python in real-world environments.
- Hands-on experience with frontier-model APIs such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or xAI.
- Proven expertise with Linux, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms with AWS preferred.
- Security-minded approach understanding adversarial threats to autonomous agent deployment systems.
- Excellent written and spoken English for creating technical documentation and decision records.
- Experience with agent frameworks, retrieval systems, and evaluation harnesses beyond tutorials.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status required; no visa sponsorship available.
Pay Range: $120,000 - $150,000
