Job description

Location: United States (Flexible / Major Hubs with National Project Travel; New York or Dallas preferred)

Sector: Private Equity Real Estate | Advanced Manufacturing & Critical Infrastructure

The Opportunity

Our client is an institutional backed private equity investment and development platform acquiring, building, and operating advanced manufacturing facilities across the United States.

They are partnering with tier one corporate occupiers across domestic semiconductor supply chains, aerospace & defense, clean energy technology, and advanced industrial manufacturing. Rather than generic shell warehousing, the platform targets heavy, technically complex physical assets characterized by high power density, specialized central utility plants, cleanrooms, and intricate process infrastructure.

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Vice President of Development & Asset Management to lead technical execution, capital project oversight, and owner representative development across their national portfolio.

The Mandate

Acting on behalf of ownership, you will sit at the intersection of capital allocation, project delivery, and technical engineering. You will be directly responsible for taking major capital projects from early due diligence and feasibility through design, permitting, construction delivery, commissioning, and ongoing asset management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Owner Representation & Development Management: Direct owner side project management across complex, greenfield, and major retrofit industrial development projects.
  • Technical & Infrastructure Oversight: Drive building level technical standards, utility interconnects, heavy mechanical/electrical systems (HV power, cooling, process piping, cleanrooms), and structural requirements.
  • Partner & Stakeholder Leadership: Manage, challenge, and align external EPC partners, general contractors, engineering consultants, municipal authorities, and utility providers.
  • Occupier Technical Interface: Serve as the credible technical interface with sophisticated manufacturing tenants (aerospace, semiconductor, and defense leaders), translating occupier operational requirements into executable development scopes.
  • Underwriting & Feasibility Support: Partner closely with platform leadership on technical due diligence, capital expenditure budgeting, schedule validation, and constructability assessments for prospective acquisitions.
Candidate Profile

This appointment requires an uncommon blend of deep building-level technical literacy, owner-side commercial judgment, and executive presence.

Ideal Experience
  • Proven Track Record: 10+ years of capital project leadership, development management, or technical asset management within highly complex built environments.
  • Target Sectors: Exposure to mission-critical infrastructure, life sciences real estate, specialized cleanrooms/labs, hyperscale data centers, or advanced manufacturing facilities.
  • Owner-Side / Developer Mindset: Substantial experience operating directly for an institutional real estate investor or specialist developer
  • Technical Foundations: Strong technical grounding in building infrastructure, mechanical/electrical systems, civil/structural delivery, and utility interconnects.
  • Entrepreneurial Agility: Ability to operate autonomously and decisively in a lean, high-growth investment platform where individuals take complete ownership of outcomes.
