Job summary

UTMB Health invites applications for the Vice Dean, Academic Affairs – School of Nursing. This role provides strategic leadership for academic matters including program development, accreditation, and policy implementation.

The position leads interdisciplinary collaboration, oversees education quality across degree programs (BSN, MSN, DNP, PhD), and partners with SON leadership to align strategic goals and resources with the university’s mission.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in a related field with leadership experience.
• Experience in accreditation processes and regulatory compliance.
• Record of progressive leadership and scholarship in nursing education.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic academic oversight for BSN, MSN, DNP and PhD programs.
• Lead accreditation self-studies, site visits and reporting with compliance.
• Represent the School of Nursing with external organizations and councils.
• Oversee budget, resources, faculty development and program assessment.
• Collaborate with SON leaders to design data collection and school-wide goals.
