Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, Social Work, or related field preferred.
• ADC or CTRS certification is a plus; must obtain within 9 months.
• 1-2 years of activity planning in senior living, healthcare, or recreational setting.
• Experience with residents with dementia or cognitive impairments preferred.
• Strong creativity, organizational and event-planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute activities, events, and outings tailored to residents’ interests and needs.
• Incorporate physical, cognitive, social, creative, spiritual, and recreational activities.
• Develop monthly activity calendars aligned with residents’ preferences.
• Build relationships with residents to understand backgrounds and abilities.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support programs.
• Establish relationships with local organizations to enhance programming.
• Organize special events and intergenerational activities.
• Maintain records of participation and program evaluations; ensure compliance.
