Job summary

Solstice at Bangor is seeking a Driver to provide timely and courteous transportation for residents to various activities. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma, be at least 21 years old, and may require a current commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a good driving record. Responsibilities include assisting disabled passengers, maintaining community vehicles, and ensuring safety during transport. Responsibilities

• Provide timely and courteous transportation for residents to and from various activities while delivering quality service.
• Assist disabled passengers in, out of vehicle.
• Secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize them during the trip.
• Safely operate radio, cell phone or pager to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service.
• Maintain all community vehicles in good working condition.
• Clean and service vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
• Assist with vehicle registration and license plate renewal process.
• Inspect and document vehicle condition on a monthly and per trip basis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Current commercial driver’s license (CDL) may be required with an acceptable driving record in accordance with Federal Department of Transportation regulations.
• Experience in a customer service environment, preferably in a senior living setting.
• Must be knowledgeable of all safety precautions and comply with safety measures.
• Competent in organization, time management and handling multiple priorities.
