Job summary

The University of Georgia's VetMed-Athens Diagnostic Lab is seeking a Marketing and Communications Student Assistant to support content planning, social media, and marketing materials. You will help develop a content calendar, draft copy, and produce graphics and short videos.

Working with CVM Marketing and Communications, you will ensure branding compliance and assist with newsletters and digital displays.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience creating engaging content for social media or other digital platforms.
• Experience creating short-form video content.
• Coursework or experience in journalism, public relations, advertising, marketing, communications, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing content ideas for the Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory’s social media and digital communication efforts.
• Develop and maintain a content calendar to support regular communication about laboratory services, employees, activities, accomplishments, and other topics of interest.
• Draft social media copy and develop accompanying graphics, photographs, and short-form video content.
• Identify opportunities to highlight laboratory services, new or existing tests, interesting cases, employees, events, and other relevant topics.
• Coordinate completed content with the CVM Marketing and Communications team for review, approval, scheduling, and publication.
• Assist with reviewing social media engagement and identifying content topics or formats that resonate with audiences.
• Assist with: Creating promotional materials such as flyers, digital graphics, advertisements, and other communication materials.
