A leading university seeks a Veterinary Technician to provide high-quality veterinary services under the guidance of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Responsibilities include assisting in procedures, administering treatments, and maintaining patient care standards. Days/Hours: Sunday, 6:00am to 4:30pm; Monday & Tuesday, 12:00pm to 10:30pm; Saturday, 6:00am to 4:30pm (40 hours a week)
Under the direction of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, contributes to the health and well-being of patients by delivering high-quality veterinary technician services that meet MVMA, MAVT, and VMC standards and protocols.
Assists clinicians and medical staff with veterinary procedures including specialty care, emergency care, surgical assisting, radiography, anesthesiology, laboratory procedures, administering treatments, animal restraint, preventative care, and clinical research within assigned and cross-functional areas.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an Animal Health Technician or equivalent program, certified as MVMA/MAVT technician.
Preferred Qualifications: Problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, veterinary terminology knowledge, animal restraint and handling skills, certification recognized in Minnesota, proficiency with PC and software.
The Veterinary Medical Center (VMC) is Minnesota's most advanced referral care center for animals, seeing over 35,000 cases annually with specialists in all areas of veterinary medicine.
Pay Range: $22.53 to $23.90, depending on qualifications. This is a 75%-100% appointment position with comprehensive benefits including wages, holidays, professional development, health plans, flexible spending accounts, retirement plans, and more.
