Job summary

Utah Veterinary Emergency Center is seeking dedicated Veterinary Technicians to join our founding team in Herriman, Utah. You will be the backbone of the hospital, collaborating closely with doctors and staff to deliver gold-standard medical care in a modern, well-equipped facility.

We offer mentorship, growth opportunities, and a sustainable schedule with 12-hour shifts. Expect competitive hourly compensation ($23–$35/hour) based on experience and licensure, plus a robust benefits package

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT) preferred; unlicensed technicians with strong hands-on experience will be considered.
• Urgent care or specialty experience is a plus; familiarity with high throughput shifts is valued.
• Proficiency in venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring and patient restraint is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in examination, diagnosis, and treatment of urgent care patients.
• Place IV catheters, draw blood, and obtain diagnostic samples.
• Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia.
• Assist in surgical procedures and maintain sterile technique.
• Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed.
• Run in-house laboratory diagnostics and assist with imaging.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the attending veterinarian.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners.
• Maintain thorough and accurate medical records and treatment logs.
• Keep treatment areas, surgical suites, and equipment clean, stocked, and organized.
• Practice the gold standard of patient care in every interaction.
